The Journey

You want to build something, you know some parameters but you aren’t sure on other parts. How do you do it all yourself. You may have done it before, you might have seen others do it but ultimately you need to bring a team together and the 1st things everyone will say, is ‘what do you want?’

This is where we come in and help you identify the specifics of what you need, what you may like and then what you don’t know.

The process can start from there, a group of people is required to construct anything, you need someone to come up with the layout, you need a builder and you need a team of other people who approve and sign off on all the different components.

It is a process and having an understanding of the process is an important part to understand.

You are the ultimate decision maker and what you want is key. We can design the parts you don’t understand or care about but ultimately you need to be happy with the design before if advances through the steps of design.

Steps of Construction

  • Concept Design
  • Concept Development
  • Preliminary Design
  • Development Approval
  • Detail Design
  • Construction

Our aim is to ensure that we provide clear communication at every stage of the process to sign off each part progressively from concept to construction completion.

Changes

Changes are an important consideration. Changes at the wrong time can mean the design process needs to start again and costs are usually attributed to this. Understand the steps and the sign off process that will occur. Changing the colour of something isn’t as important as making the room bigger.

Approvals

Approvals are an important step.

They are complex, they take a long time and they are sequential with different authorities.

Approval processes, challenge the design and we will stand behind the design that meets compliance requirements.

We’ll push back where necessary and we’ll adjust when appropriate whilst informing you of these expected challenges in gaining approval.
